CSS Standard Bearing Wheels & Bearingless Plastic Wheels

Our bearing and bearingless plastic wheels are molded of an engineered polycarbonate base resin material that features significant strength, high impact and flexibility. We designed our rib reinforced plastic wheel using the same concept as a bicycle wheel.  A bike has spokes that support the hub of the wheel.  When you hit a bump, the wheel transfers the energy through the tire to the rim, then through the spokes to the axles and to the frame.  With a Pallet System, the impact of the load is transferred from the wide wheel to the hub, which is supported and reinforced with ribs, to the axle, and then to the frame, similar to a bike wheel, except you don’t feel the bump.

Bearing Plastic Wheel

Our bearing wheel features and benefits:

  • Dimensions: 2.875” x 1.375” wide
  • 2 bearing insert design
    • → Capacity: 320 lbs per wheel
  • High Strength / Significant Impact Wheel
    • → Used in ambient or freezer temperature applications
  • Reinforced Rib Design
    • → Added strength and flexibility
  • Extended inner race
    • → Provides correct bearing race alignment

Bearingless Wheel

CSS has been using bearingless wheels in conjunction with our systems over the last 15 years.  High strength and significant impact is a key asset of the bearingless wheel.  The bearingless wheels provide integral speed control of pallets as they flow between the dynamic speed controllers & during their transition through the flow lanes. The wheels have a special lubricant in the material that coats the outside running surface, decreasing the resistance to friction, allowing the pallets to flow better.  Some key advantages of the bearingless wheels are:

  • Impact Resistance
  • Greater Flow
  • Increased Capacity – 580 lbs per wheel
  • Cost Saving – We use our bearingless wheel as an alternative to a cast aluminum or cast zinc wheel, because those wheels are commodity priced based & they fluctuate wildly in pricing.

The issue of materials flow is vitally important within today’s fast-paced industry.  For more information give us a call at (770) 514-0711 or visit us on the web at http://www.creativestorage.com.  See innovation in motion.
